Subject:The Israeli-Gaza Conflict
Security:Public
Mood: accomplished

Here's a good article written by a Jewish Scholar on the events that have unfolded in the past two weeks.

www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/jan/07/gaza-israel-palestine

But I'll give you a good summary if you don't want to read the whole thing.

Israel has once again engaged in another campaign to undermine any possible effort of peace that their may have been last year.

The Israelis claim that what they are doing is in response to Hamas (deemed a terrorist group by mainly Western Governments) firing rockets into parts of Israel. Israel and Hamas prior to this had a ceasefire that lasted 6 months roughly. The ceasefire was broken OFFICIALLY on NOVEMBER 4 when Israel did a regular raid in Gaza and killed 5 Hamas Gunmen. After this, Israel made it absolutely sure the ceasefire would not continue by starting to slow down Aid to the strip that 700,000 residents rely on to survive. A lot of people started to suffer before the conflict broke out on December the 27. Palestinians had to start eating leafs from trees in some cases that have been reported.

The ceasefire, which was in place was that Hamas wouldn't carry out any attacks, at the same time Israel would allow the Palestinians to administer their own authority within the state, but that never happened. Israel still controlled the water, sky and their borders with humaliating blockade, so in the first place the ceasefire had already been broken

So let's take a look at this Who are the terrorists in this instance.

A)
The israeli defense force has susequently killed 700 palestinians( I don't care if some of them less than 200 were militants, they are still people with dreams they are not pure evil) and wounded around 2,000
The army has precision tactical bombs, apache helicopters, tanks, F16 fighter jets

B)
Hamas has susequently killed 4 Israelis inside Israel.
Hamas have AK47s, Sniper rifles, Quassam Rockets, Home Made Rockets. (Even though the rockets are war-crimes, I'd like to add to people that they do SHIT all damage, I'm sure they are scary, but they are nothing compared to the Kilo Bombs that Israel drops on Gaza)

Israel claims it is just protecting it's people from a terrorist organisation. Israel has maintained a humalitating blockade on Gaza since Hamas was democratically elected by the palestinian people in 2006. A humilating blockade which would be comparable to prison. Hamas whether you like them or not is comparable to Hezbollah in terms of the origins of why both organisations exist. Both organisations were created in response to the acts of aggression Israel has acted out in both Palestine and Lebanon.

Israel has started this war for few reasons, the current political party in power wants to show the Israeli people that it can defeat any enemy unlike what happened in Lebanon two years ago so that they can gain more votes in their upcoming election this year (in restrospect the israeli people will choose a more far right party Likud because apparently Benjamin Netanyahy knows how to defeat terrorism, which means more war and guess what? he doesn't even believe in a Palestinian state).
Secondly the Israelis want to collectively punish the Palestinian people because they chose whether you like them or not Hamas to be their government. Do we punish Americans because they chose George Bush, he invaded two countries!

As I said, Hamas is a natural response to Israeli Colonial Aggression. I believe terrorism to be a legitamate form of resistance, but unfortuantely violence only gives the war pigs more excuse to lay waste to peoples lands.
Israel builds racial colonies reserved for Jews only on Palestinian land in the West Bank.
Do you understand what I'm saying? Israel builds racial colonies reserved for Jews only on the ashes of Palestinians that were driven from their homes.

Problems in the middle east arent difficult. What's difficult is trying to stop terrorism at the same time letting the Israelis demolish homes and build new ones for their own people. It can't be done.

So the answer to the problem is.
Israel has to stop settling more Palestinian land and get the fuck out of Palestine. Take down the apartheid wall which isn't even on thier fucking border ( it cuts through the West Bank automatically annexing land from the Palestinians) and allow the Palestinians to administer their own state which they havern't been able to do for 40 years.

What the media doesn't tell is the very reasons why the Palestinians are so pissed off is because they live in a run down shit house prison and Israel while at the same time violates many and I mean many UN resolution protocols. The Israelis continue to colonize Palestinian land, they continue to engage in terrorism, etc using the shin-bet to kill Hamas leaders (imagine if we started popping off National members every other day). Israel for the past 40 years have engaged in deception tactics on the Palestinian people. Even if Hamas is destroyed, another group will come along to resist Israel's aggressive policies. People don't hate Israel because their anti-semetic, that hate them because they susequently murder thier children, That is why the arab world hates Israel, that is why the hate America for supporting it.

Good day

Democratic Congressman Dennis Kucinich introduced 35 articles of impeachment against George W. Bush for high crimes ranging from creating a false propaganda campaign to lead the country into an illegal war to felony treason in leaking classified information of CIA operative Valerie Plame to obstructing justice of the investigation of the attacks of September 11th.

But wait...why are none of the mainstream american news channels not discussing it

Look seriously I can't find anything about it.

Oh WAIT...there it is...right in the corner there, everyone is gonna spot that

Was great, I can't stress that enough. It was great to see the man back in his last adventure(maybe). The whole movie was just like watching one of the old ones, but for the first time. Everything about the movie was 10x more elaborate than the old films, especially the action scenes. Oh lord they ruled so much. But that's what the indiana jones films were about. Listening to the man's history knowledge and watch him kick ass. I have no idea what these critics are going on about, maybe they are hardcore fans? But the movie was pretty damn good. The story line, the actors(shia lebouf was pretty good, even though he's in EVERY film now). Go see it if your a fan, you wont be disappointed.

Last night I went to the Phsyche gig, not the best turn out at the gig but it was a pretty cool show none the less, wasn't in the mood for standing so I sat most of the time. Keller Kinder started out and they we're a mix of Goth Rock and Electro, isn't really my kind of thing but I thought it was cool the fact that this band was from Wellington.
Phsyche came on next and he had a lot of energy this guy. I thought he put on a great performance for a musician and he was quite funny between songs
"Yes we are Gothics...and I'm wearing my Emo shoes" LOL

But to be honest I didn't really like his music much. I'm not keen on band's like Lights Of Euphoria or VNV nation, so I didn't get his music that much. Other than that, pretty good show, at least we are getting some international act out here and that's what we need.

By the way, I keep watching this video, so awesome

The Cure last night was pretty awesome, although I can't really say I'm a huge fan of them personally I thought the show was pretty damn good. I was mainly in the front row but man I wished even about an hour in I had a sitting seat, you really didn't have to be in the crowd to enjoy that kind of concerto.

and now I'm resting my ears

Yesterday was my last day at work, it was partly relieving and saddening. I am really gonna miss all the cool people I met there.

Time to job hunt and fill out IRD forms for tax rebate.

Gone back to darker hair, at the end of the year I'll probably cut it all off and then bleach it, that's a lot easier.

Only a few months to Argentina, Looking forward to it.

Looking for another job now.
I've been working at Xtra for about 5 months now and I think it's a good time to move on. I've really enjoyed working with the people there, and I'll definitly miss them, but I've come to the end of my road with constant customer service interaction, I can't really explain it but unless you've worked on a help desk before you'll know what I mean. So I'll be handing in my resignation in 2 weeks time so in total, 6 months won't look too bad on my CV. In the mean time I'll be hunting to find some laxed job for the rest of the year.

:)

Ahhh....it's Tuesday.

I've had a good few days, New Years Eve was good, Christmas was good. So another year is coming up and I've got lots of plans for lots of different things. Argentina in the middle of the year which should be insane in the membrane ese, don't you know I'm loco?.

Starting work at Xtra in a few days, should be fun to get some real money for a change, not living on $50 dollars a week.

Anyways

Well, In the news recently I finally got a job which is at Xtra thanks go to Ruth, I guess having the insider really does help and it's thankful because Teletech we're the only ones who actually seemed interested in me besides the fact that I applied at every other ISP and heard no word at all from any of them.

If anyone is remotely interested I'm selling my PC on trademe for $500 but no monitor/hard drive. It's a fairly decent mid-range PC that can handle
most applications, I've been using it for a year and it hasn't let me down.

Oh by the way Roxy, S.T.A.L.K.E.R is coming out early next year ;)

Music:Front Line Assembly - Unleashed

I met up with my new friend Yannick who just came from Germany, yesterday and he told me alot about his people and the culture, which was cool and makes me more excited to go there.

Oh well Im 21 in 2 days time but since I dont have the facilities to cater for any kind of big party Im just going to be let it all come out at the Nitzer Ebb gig on Sunday.

Ive been listening to a shit load of EBM lately, the good stuff really, the new Frontline Assembly, Spetsnaz, NUTE, Hoicico. "Eh?!" When I heard Boiling blood Ludmila and I said that to each other for a few days, although its apparently very rude. I decided to buy Einsturzende Neubaten's Perpetual Mobile the other day,
Ive had withdrawals after I lost my burnt copy of it and since I wanted to hear the full quality of "Selbstport Mit Kater" It was glady embraced, I mean, I buy cds every couple of months, I dont tend to download alot of music whatsoever. Maybe a few songs from an album to get an idea. I totally believe in buying albums because Mp3s sound like garbage, however I think bands shouldnt be completetly stingy, I mean the single should be at least free.

Woohoo Im getting another Ipod that I promise not to leave on the bus, run after the bus and have it taken by some lucky bus driver.

Test tomorrow,
Sleep.

Precious and fragile things
Need special handling
My God what have we done to You?

We always try to share
The tenderest of care
Now look what we have put You through...

Angels with silver wings
Shouldn't know suffering
I wish I could take the pain for you

If God has a master plan
That only He understands
I hope it's your eyes He's seeing through

I pray you learn to trust
Have faith in both of us
And keep room in your hearts for two

Things get damaged
Things get broken
I thought we'd manage
But words left unspoken
Left us so brittle
There was so little left to give
